The dustpans and brooms in 100-yen shops usually come with a structure called ribs which are slits or bumps around the plastics to strengthen it. It is used to keep cost low as you can make the product relatively strong with small amounts of material. By attaching ribs around the silhouette of the dustpan, a simple yet strong product is created. 百均のちりとりとほうきはほとんどリブという構造がついている状況で、低価格で少ない素材で生産できると同時に丈夫に機能させるためである。 今回曲線にリブを付けることによって素朴な安いちりとりでも綺麗に見えるように挑戦した。合わせたとき、かけるとき、洗うときや使う時の指の位置などを配慮してデザインした。
